Prize: 1st: £200; 2nd: £100 (x5)
Open to: Medical officers in any training grade in general practice, occupational medicine, public health or hospital-based specialties are eligible to enter a submission which may be based on their research or audit projects, including those used in GP Training Programmes.

Submissions will be judged according to general interest, clinical, scientific and military relevance, the value of the hypothesis, study design, scientific and statistical rigour, background and references, originality, impact on policy development and quality of presentation and illustration.

Submissions must be in the form of an abstract which should identify the author(s), unit or affiliation and the title of the presentation. The substance of the abstract (max 250 words) should reflect the principal sections of the proposed presentation i.e.: background, hypothesis, materials and methods, results and discussion.

The authors of the top 6 abstracts selected from all submissions, will be required to do a formal presentation of their abstracts at the RSM on the date above. The authors of the next 8 abstracts selected (7-14 in the merit order), will be required to attend and present a poster of their work on the day. Those selected to present their work will be informed by Friday 20 November 2015
